Roles and Responsibilities

Patient Care :

  • Evaluates and organize patient care and ensures continuity of care based on patient needs.
  • Ensures nurse-patient communication is clear and effective
  • Maintaining accountability for assessing, diagnosis, planning, implementing and evaluating care within the frame work of team nursing.
  • Coordinate patients transfer/discharge arrangements in accordance with hospital policy.
  • Promote focused care approach in collaboration with all relevant health professionals
  • Educate patient and their caretakers from the time of admission to discharge and after discharge care
  • Create and ensure safe environment and provide quality care to patients.
  • Contribute in decision-making and foster an opportunity to keep abreast knowledge and skill.

Team Nursing :

  • Work as a team to achieve and promote successful outcomes of patient care
  • Develop professional relationships and rapport with multi disciplinary team for the purpose of coordination, support and counselling.
  • Manage self-behaviour well enough to provide safe, competent and ethical nursing care
  • Employee will care for patients of all cultural and religious backgrounds from all over the world with diverse cultural or religious background.
  • Respect patient and patient confidentiality
  • Recognise ethical dilemmas and approach them appropriately.
  • Identify specific learning needs and objective
  • Observe patient condition and initiate prompt timely action.
  • Report and document patient condition as and when required.
  • Provide direct supervision over patient care carried out by the preceptee in her ward.
  • Participate in clinical teaching programme.
  • Provide health education and ensure teach back from the patient.
  • BLS /PALS / NALS trained.

Roles Specific to the Department

Emergency Room and OPD:

  • Able to adapt quickly to change and must be a critical thinker.
  • Quick Perform triage while considering both physical and psycho-social elements
  • Recognize and effectively treat life threatening condition deploying rapid assessment.
  • Assist for procedures and follow infection control protocols
  • Attends ambulance call.
  • Must be excellent at organising and efficient time management
  • Manage OPD Vaccination and assessment efficiently

Intensive Care Unit:

  • Initiate cardiac monitoring, ventilation, oxygen therapy, non-invasive blood pressure, oximetry and assessing invasive lines.
  • Recognize cardiac arrhythmias intervene using physician orders
  • Reassess client to identify program and trends that require intervention or reporting to the Physician
  • Competent in handling equipment in ICU
  • Intercede for clients who cannot speak for themselves in situations that require immediate action
  • Must possess strong decision-making skills and able to work effectively in stressful and emergent situation
  • Improving client outcome by reducing the risk of complications

Performs responsibilities as assigned.

Operation Theatre:

  • Assemble, check and prepare appropriate surgical equipment, instruments as per the kit defined and consumables for a wide range of operative procedures.
  • The ability to coordinate the use of supplies and additional equipment during an operation, ensuring the equipment is used appropriately and safely.
  • Conduct mandatory patient checks as per the defined check list

Complete mandatory surgical checks prior to the start of the procedure, during and pre wound closure.

Desired Candidate Profile

GNM/BSc Nursing

Preferably 0-5 years(Freshers also welcome)
