• Nursing care starts from entry to exit: (from admission to discharge)
• Admits, transfer and discharges the patient.
• Maintains the highest possible standard of patient care at all times.
• Foster good patient nurse relationship.
• Accompanies attending doctors on rounds and Implements Treatment required.
• Maintain clean and safe environment for the patients.
• Administration of medications according to the hospital medication administration policy.
• Any Other work assign to be completed.

Non-clinical Function

• Maintain safety of equipments (care of bio-medical equipments if found any damage or technical fault should
• be reported to Nurse administrator)
• Responsible for borrowed articles from other units
• Replacement of medication or any other article used for the patient
• Updating of Crash-cart.
• Hands over and take over the patient and ward equipment and supply.
• Hands over the valuable article of the patient to the relative with proper documentation.
• Any Other work assign to be completed.

Managerial / Supervisory/Administration Responsibilities

• Assist Nurse Administrator in unit management.
• Supervise nursing assistants, DPCA students, and hospital attendants and provide appropriate education and guidance.
• Helps in the orientation of new staff.
• Teaches and guide junior nurses and student nurses.
• Any Other work assign to be completed.

Non-Core Areas

• She/ he should vaccinate him/herself against hepatitis.
• Reporting of Needle stick Injury, Adverse Drug reaction, Medication error, Incidental reports, adverse event and Sentinel Event.
• Sending radiology, pathology, dietary and pharmacy and physiotherapy requisitions.
• On receipt of reports or goods, do cross verification with patients requisition.
• Updating diet list periodically.
• Liaison with linen, CSSD, maintenance and Biomedical department for making patients immediate environment safe and comfortable.
• Any Other work assign to be completed.
