Sr. Manager - Business Strategy will be responsible for continued profitability and growth for Cipla EM & EU. This role will support the Head – Business Strategy and Commercial Operations, International Business, and the Leadership team, to help achieve mid to long term strategic objectives. The individual shall be responsible for Cipla's 3-5 year growth plan, with a deeper focus on Top 10 Intenational markets. The role will lead cross-functional high-impact projects, developing new and actionable insights into industry/competitive dynamics, and evaluate newer opportunities / models to accelerate growth for International markets at Cipla.
Accountabilities
Mid to long term strategy and newer areas for Cipla to grow profitably in International markets. Analyse new market opportunities, strategic initiatives, business development, competitive landscape, and cross-business segment opportunities
- 3 year growth plan: Cipla EMEU’s 3-5 year growth trajectory, with a detailed market plan for the Top 10 regions
- Strategic Thinking - The Big Picture: Identify and evaluate opportunities which could significantly impact Cipla’s growth and profitability in International markets. Identify areas of concern across regions and strategically important focus areas thereby recommending actions for sustainable and profitable growth
- Implementation: Oversee the implementation of the corporate strategy as well as the business unit / horizontal specific strategy across different geographies to ensure continued profitability in line with the envisaged organizational goals and targets
- Thought partnering: Step back with the Leadership team to share recent trends, interesting facts, newer opportunities etc. and the implication for Cipla EMEU. Identify internal strengths and development areas for the business
- External benchmarking: Outside-in view on the ‘best practices. Conduct target assessment to develop deeper perspective(s). Provide support as an internal consultant to function and regional business heads, by reviewing and recommending changes to existing functional strategies
- New Opportunities: Collaborate with Business team to explore newer markets, new opportunities in an existing market, new therapy/ product segments
- Projects and Transformational : Own and drive key projects and further collaborate with Central/ Global team, as required. Partner with CEO and leadership team on innovation and diversification agendas
Education Qualification
MBA for a Tier 1 school
Relevant Work Experience
8-10 years overall experience, with experience in Corporate strategy for global markets, pharma/healthcare management consulting in tier 1/2 firms, Corporate development in big size pharma companies, Corporate Project management in big size pharma companies
