If so, Amazon has an immediate opening for a Senior Program Manager to join our Finance and Business Integration team, focusing on India expansion.

India has emerged as one of the fastest growing geographies for Amazon with many exciting projects. As a Senior Program Manager, this leader will work closely with the financial systems team, accounting operations teams, tax, treasury, and others and represent the accounting organization to various stakeholders. In this role, the candidate will be part of a team that collaborates with business finance and technical teams to deliver world class solutions that are highly scalable, secure, and flexible. The projects will span across the Consumer domain, including Seller Services, Retail, and Payments. This role also provides high level visibility across business, accounting and finance.

A successful candidate in this position will have demonstrable experience with financial reporting, system and process design, project management and internal control related responsibilities. This person will have operated successfully in a fast-paced, global, results-oriented environment. Strong oral and written communication skills are crucial, as well as ability to think clearly, analyze quantitatively, problem-solve, scope business requirements and prioritize.


Key job responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop Program Managers to provide project support and assistance to Amazon's business and technology teams with the design of new products or offerings and set-up of financial systems to ensure appropriate business support and controllership
  • Responsible for consultation, oversight and implementation of cross functional projects
  • Manage and prioritize work for the assigned portfolio; work directly or indirectly with various stakeholder teams and monitor quality to ensure standards are maintained
  • Identify and communicate project risks to senior leadership, along with clear recommendations for resolution or mitigation
  • Provide leadership and technical guidance in executing large scale process implementations and improvements within new business launches and existing processes and controls; define scope, goals and deliverables in collaboration with senior leadership and stakeholders
  • Work collaboratively with the global accounting, tech, finance, tax and business teams to establish and maintain strong communication channels
  • Hire, develop talent and actively participate in Accounting recruiting effort

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3+ years experience in program or project management
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
  • 3+ years experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  • Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements
  • 5+ years of experience delivering cross functional projects as a project/program manager
  • 5+ years of experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams
  • B com in Finance, Accounting, Business or similar discipline with analytical bias
  • Contribution to the development and delivery of accounting / finance process improvement and/or technology projects (e.g. requirements development and some technical development)
  • Experience writing, managing, and delivering requirements across the lifecycle of complex initiatives; unblocking teams and increasing speed of delivery
  • Experience developing scalable tracking and monitoring mechanisms to audit the adherence to business requirements

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of experience in program or project management
  • 5+ years of experience developing and delivering for cross functional initiatives through influence versus direct management, working with both technical and non-technical teams
  • Master’s degree and/ or professional certification (CPA/CMA/CA/Qualified Accounting certificate) + relevant experience
  • PMP Certification
  • Analytic tool certifications (SQL, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Agile project/release management
  • Experience supporting specifically accounting/finance customers to set and effectively manage expectations, project deliverables, and drive resolution when conflicts or issues arise.
  • Proven understanding of large-scale data mining and reporting tools (i.e. Tableau, Power BI, SQL, MSAccess, Essbase and/or Cognos) and financial systems such (i.e. Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards).
