Roles and Responsibilities - GC Operator / Petrochemical product

Desired Candidate Profile

1. Chemical Analysis: Perform various chemical tests and analyses on samples using specialized laboratory equipment and techniques. This may include determining the composition, structure, and properties of substances.
2. Method Development: Develop and optimize analytical methods and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results. This involves evaluating existing methods, making modifications, and validating new methods.
3. Sample Preparation: Prepare samples for analysis by following specific protocols and procedures. This may involve extracting, purifying, and concentrating substances of interest.
4. Data Collection and Analysis: Record and interpret experimental data accurately and precisely. Analyze and evaluate results using statistical techniques and software. Prepare reports summarizing findings.
5. Instrumentation Operation: Operate and maintain laboratory instruments such as spectrometers, chromatographs, and mass spectrometers. Calibrate instruments, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure proper functioning.
6. Quality Control: Ensure compliance with quality control standards and protocols. Maintain and document quality assurance procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of results. Participate in proficiency testing and inter-laboratory comparisons.
7. Safety and Compliance: Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and guidelines. Handle chemicals and hazardous materials properly. Maintain accurate records of chemicals, inventory, and equipment. Follow legal and regulatory requirements related to chemical handling and waste disposal.
8. Research and Development: Contribute to ongoing research projects, collaborations, or product development initiatives. Stay updated with the latest advancements and technologies in the field of chemistry.
9. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with colleagues, scientists, and researchers within and outside the organization. Communicate findings, observations, and results effectively through written reports, presentations, and discussions.
10. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and organized records of experiments, procedures, and results. Ensure proper documentation of protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and laboratory notebooks.
