Job Description
- The Prinicipal, Master Data Management will work with key business stakeholders and conduct independent analysis of current landscape to build and implement a robust and comprehensive Master Data Management and Governance strategy which includes, identification of key data assets and elements, prioritization process for Central Mastering based on strategic and regulatory requirements and measures of success
- This Principal will execute the strategy through effective Program planning and delivery and lead key activities such as establishing data rules and governance process, creation of a single source of truth for key Master Data elements across the enterprise, data cleansing and data quality improvements in alignment with the rules, monitoring data quality and adoption of the Master Data in all relevant business functions and applications and continuous improvements in alignment with business needs
- Key KPIs will include Business value delivered, Level of adoption by stakeholders and downstream applications, Quality of Master Data and continuous improvements made
Role Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior business/IT leadership to understand business requirements and strategic direction of the business to chart out Master Data strategy
- Identify business challenges and opportunities that can be addressed through better Master Data
- Prioritise key data assets such as Product, Material, Customer, Supplier, Employee, Equipment, Cost Center etc, and related elements, for on-boarding to the Master Data Management and Governance framework
- Work with business process owners, Data Owners and Stewards to define data rules and governance policies and procedures; ensure business rules and requirements for Master Data are clearly defined, well documented, communicated and understood
- Build knowledge management framework for Master Data & maintain data glossary for the Masters
- Implement solution(s) for creation and consumption of Master Data, including interlocks to maintain data quality
- Participate in technology evaluations and solution architecture design for the Master Data Management and Governance solution as well integrations with other applications
- Design Data Governance structure and setup Data Governance Council(s) for continued monitoring of data quality and identification of new improvements
- Ensure Master Data is kept up to date; Ensure Data Cleansing and Data Quality improvements are completed as planned; Analyse and validate any exceptions.
- Promote the usage of Master Data; communicate benefits; Ensure Master Data is reliable, of high quality and relevance and is easy to access and use
- Continuously track and report on adoption, integrations and business benefit realization and other KPIs
- Plan and conduct change management activities; (in adherence to GXP standards where relevant) Create SOPs and train users; .
- Identify new opportunities to achieve efficiency and effectiveness in the marketplace through better discovery of information and integration of businesses processes enabled by Master Data
- Be the change catalyst and champion for Master data governance; represent Master Data as a strategic business asset to Senior Management and stakeholders
- Plan and manage multiple projects/program to achieve above objectives
Qualifications
- At least 8 years of work experience with extensive knowledge in Master Data Management;
- Ability to find the rules and relationships within the data and translate them into simple yet impactful insights and understandable recommendations;
- Knowledge of unique MDM challenges and solutions
- Knowledge of data related regulatory requirements and emerging trends and issues
- Hands on expertise with Data modelling and Data lineage mapping.
- Understanding of Architecture and Integration patterns for MDM
- Ability to define actionable data quality measures for master data
- Experience working with one or more of MDM solutions(SAP MDG, Informatica, Reltio) and ETL tools,
- Has proven success in working with stakeholders at all levels of an enterprise and influencing change
- Strong verbal and written communication skill; ability to tell a story that drives action
- Experience managing MDM governance council(s)
- Experience managing the implementation of MDM solutions in Pharma/Life Sciences is a plus
- Knowledge of GXP guidelines is a plus
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or Information Sciences
