Roles and Responsibilities

• Adhere to and maintains required levels of performance in both Coding accuracy and productivity
• Identify appropriate assignment of CPT and E&M Codes for Physician and facility services provided in a behavioral health setting
• Abstract additional data elements during the Chart Review process when coding, as needed
• Perform Coding duties as appropriate according to pre-determined schedules
• Review and maintain a record of charts coded, held, and/or missing
• Maintain up-to-date Coding knowledge by reviewing materials disseminated/recommended by CMS
• Participate in Coding department meetings and educational events
• Proactive in current related coding Updates
• Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so
• Should have experience working in both inpatient, vascular surgical and inpatient E/M Coding
• CPC Certified (Not Compulsory)
  

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate
• Certified Coding Credential (CCS, CPC, RHIT or other)
• Knowledge of all codes sets
• Knowledge of CPT, Coding, PCS, and HCPCS Assignment
• Strong critical thinking, oral and written communication and presentation skills
• Ability to work independently

Preferred Qualifications:

• Graduate - B.H.M.S / B.U.M.S / Physiotherapy / B.D.S / or Pharmacy
• Experience with various Encoder systems
• Surgery coding knowledge
• Expertise on E&M, CPT
• Intermediate skill level with MS Office
• Good typing speed
