We are looking for an experienced and qualified Head Chef to organize the kitchens activities. You will be the first in command in the facilities and will create and inspect dishes before they arrive at the customers ensuring high quality and contentment.
Master chefs are also responsible for ensuring the kitchen is running smoothly. This may include supervising employees, ensuring food is fresh and stored properly, creating staffing schedules, and hiring new staff members to enable appropriate coverage during busy shifts and special events.
Design food menus create signature recipes and train chefs on how to prepare and plate dishes
Manage a kitchen staff, including chefs, sous chefs, cooks, and dishwashers
Manage a kitchen budget and take budget into account when creating menus, ordering food, and hiring new back-of-house employees
Supervise food storage, food handling, and kitchen operations to ensure food is fresh, proper safety and handling procedures are being followed, and processes are efficient..
Roles and Responsibilities
Control and direct the food preparation process and any other relative activities
Construct menus with new or existing culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings
Approve and polish dishes before they reach the customer
Plan orders of equipment or ingredients according to identified shortages
Arrange for repairs when necessary
Remedy any problems or defects
Be fully in charge of hiring, managing, and training kitchen staff
Oversee the work of subordinates
Estimate staffs workload and compensation
Maintain records of payroll and attendance
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Foster a climate of cooperation and respect between co-oworkers
Requirements and skills:-
Proven experience as Head Chef
Exceptional proven ability of kitchen management
Ability in dividing responsibilities and monitoring progress
Outstanding communication and leadership skills
Up-to-date with culinary trends and optimized kitchen processes
Good understanding of useful computer programs (MS Office, restaurant management software, POS)
Credentials in health and safety training
Degree in Culinary science or related certificate.
Typical Work Schedule:-
Master and executive chef roles are full-time, and overtime is common. Master and executive chefs may need to be available for all/any shift.
depending on the establishment worked forand commonly work 12-hour shifts to oversee all kitchen operations over the course of the day.
