About the job

Simsim is a growing organization that YouTube recently acquired, a video-first e-commerce platform that connects sellers and manufacturers with creators and consumers. We are building an e-commerce platform keeping in mind the shopping behavior of the India-based consumer. simsim uses a unique combination of content and commerce to help customers discover the right products for themselves.

You will be a key leader for the creator vertical at simsim, and will focus on the creator community and content on the platform. Your role would be to lead critical projects for the creator vertical from conceptualization to final delivery. This will require developing a deep understanding how the combination of creators, content, products, and tools would better help engage and guide the consumers through their shopping journey. In addition, you would also need to think of ways to better support and develop the creator network and make them successful in their journey. The projects can also involve working with Global YouTube teams to run large scale experiments in shopping. This is a critical role within simsim, and would require you to also play a people leader role by managing a team of direct reports to deliver the projects.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the strategic roadmap of simsim creator ecosystem and identify critical initiatives/projects to enable the roadmap execution.
  • Detail these initiatives into robust project plans and align them with leadership (e.g., Defining objectives, success metrics, developing detailed work plans with cross-functional leads, establishing resource requirements).
  • Own the overall delivery of projects within targeted timelines and intended outcomes.
  • Lead a team of direct reports from defining work-streams, staffing right members, allocating work, prioritizing for deadlines, driving problems solving with each member, surfacing, and solving bottlenecks to ensure delivery.
  • Collaborate with the other Business and Engineering teams to continuously build alignment and drive execution.
