Essential Responsibilities

As the Finance IT – Enterprise Application Engineer you will own and understand the finance business process and translate them into detailed as-is and to-be designs to enable IT solutions. Under the direction of Senior Team members, you will participate and contribute to the initial exploratory discussions to assess the potential and feasibility for digitization. You will be responsible for capturing the as-is process map and creating the to-be vision for the process digitization to produce the functional design documents with keystroke level process information as well contribute to the creation of the technical design documents. Under the guidance of experienced technical developers, you will also support code testing that meets standards and delivers desired functionality.

In this role, you will:

  • Have a good level of understanding of Finance Business Processes and be able to translate that to end users and assess business problems for feasibility for digitization.

  • Deliver process evaluation template capturing as-is and to-be details

  • Participate in the creation of system architecture designs wherever necessary to clarify system data flows

  • Create detailed exception scenarios with business process / data exceptions that the process digitization design team needs to incorporate

  • Translate the design into an digitization workflow in the selected development software code. Test solutions in partnership with and under the guidance of the development team

  • Work with globally located technical team often comprising of members of separate organizations to coordinate day-to-day execution as per outlined plan.

  • Support the solution delivery team with resolution of process roadblocks and interdependencies.

  • Track project outcomes realization and business satisfaction levels through established metrics against service level. Ensure lessons learned are collected

Qualifications/Requirements

Basic Requirements:

  • At least 6 months Experience in solution design and coding/software development

  • Participants of GE Internship Programs will get credit towards relevant work experience, commensurate to the program they have completed

Desired Characteristics

  • Proven leadership and process skills in driving wing-to-wing business process transformation initiatives

  • Working knowledge of business processes (i.e. Cash/Accounts Receivables) in the Finance domain with a strong data analysis component.

  • Familiar with business process improvements and process reengineering (Kaizen, Lean)

  • Strong team player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources

  • Very strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills -communicates in a clear and succinct manner and effectively evaluates information / data to make decisions, anticipates obstacles and develops plans to resolve, creates actionable strategies and operational plans

Technical Expertise:

  • Understands technical and business discussions relative to software development and practices aligning with business goals.

  • Familiar with elements of gathering business requirements.

  • Understands software development standards concepts to apply to project work.

  • Aware of methods and practices such as Lean/Agile/XP, etc. May have prior work experience in an agile environment, or introductory training on Lean/Agile.

  • Operates with general understanding of the impacts of technology choice to the software development life cycle

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be willing to travel

  • Must have 100% English fluency

  • Must be able to work out of an office located in Bangalore/India
