Environmental Program Manager, EAP, Governance & Programs

The Environmental Assurance and Protection (EAP) organization is seeking an Environmental Launch Program Manager, responsible for creating innovative solutions that span across multiple regions and business lines.

The Environmental Launch Program Manager will define gaps and opportunities within the construction phase of new launches, where the development of policies, products, and metrics are needed to ensure our facilities have appropriate environmental permits, registrations, and notifications completed at time of launch.


Key job responsibilities
Prior to launching new facilities, the Environmental Launch Program Manager will determine environmental permit applicability:
1) Operation type
2) Local environmental laws/regulations
3) Understanding (and specifications) of equipment that will be installed

This evaluation creates both a site-specific environmental plan that is managed during the lifetime of our operation and is also the mechanism that determines which permits are applied for prior to launch.

The Environmental Launch Program Manager oversees and improves this process where it exists, and continues to rollout the program globally.

The Environmental Assurance and Protection organization protects Amazon businesses and support the needs of our customers by proactively mitigating environmental regulatory risks that protect our environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

•Bachelor’s Degree
•3+ years' experience in program management, project management, environmental science/compliance, or launch

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•Bachelor’s Degree in civil, chemical, or environmental engineering or environmental related field of study
•Global experience and working on programs that span across multiple geographies simultaneously.
•General Amazon launch experience
•Experience communicating with, collaborating, and influencing team members across multiple business lines, organizations, and presenting to senior leadership
•Broad knowledge of environmental regulations
•Experience demonstrating a high level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others and achieve results
•Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies
•Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances, direction, and strategy
•Ability to identifying customer needs and inventing new and efficient ways to meet those needs
•Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to propose complex solutions and explanations in writing
•High attention to detail including an ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
•Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
•Experience analyzing data and proposing data-driven solutions
•Ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems
•Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability
•Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office
•Solve complex programs with minimal direction
•Experience in strategy development and execution that span at a global scale
