Job Description: Design Engineer

The profile involves activities in taking a product from concept to market. Depending on the skills and liking, the candidate would be responsible for one or more steps such as concept development, prototyping, product design, test method development, pilot manufacturing, and ISO 13485 related documentation.

The candidate would need to interact with clients, suppliers and other departments for effective project management.

Job description: Production Engineer / Production Manager

• Documenting current production procedures and create Company standards to improve the efficiency of the Production Department.
• Minimize overall production costs while maximizing productivity. Collect, analyze, summarize and present production and process data, information and trends to management.
• Source new equipment and material suppliers as required.
• Assist in the evaluation of returned materials/products.
• Review internal operational facility layouts for process improvement.
• Estimate staffing requirements, production times, and relative costs to provide data for operational decisions.
• Lead, develop and mentor the Production team.

Desired Candidate Profile for Design Engineer:

- Must have a first Class in BE, Mechanical/ Production / Biomedical : with 2-3 years of experience in New Product Development or Tooling or Manufacturing.

Or

- Four/ Three years Diploma: with 3-4 years of experience in New Product Development designing or Tooling or Manufacturing.

- Candidate shall possess Very strong aptitude and strong mechanical engineering skills.

- Knowledge of manufacturing processes, experience in manufacturing is desirable. Knowledge of medical grade materials, testing is a definite plus but not mandatory.

- Hands on experience of Solid works (or ProE) software is mandatory for candidates who have experience in design.

- The candidate must be innovative, motivated and a risk taker

- Proven experience in Detailing, Documentation related to product design is preferred
- Any track record of excellence in academics, work life or extracurricular activities would be an advantage

- Experience in medical devices industry is highly preferred

Desired Candidate Profile for Production Engineer / Production Manager:

• Must have BE mechanical / Production
• Deep knowledge of manufacturing / production / Quality processes and concepts.
• Strong knowledge of ISO standards. Strong leadership skills.
• The ability to perform a multi-task job and adjust priorities as appropriate.
• Possess excellent time management skills. Be able to take the initiative to meet deadlines and the ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision.
• Able to interpret and apply policies and procedures appropriately.
• The ability to work effectively in a team situation as well as independently.
• Knowledge of ISO 13485 & Medical Industry experience preferred.
