Controllership Specialist, Transportation Controllership

Controllership Specialist in Transportation auditing business is focused on auditing carrier invoices, managing accurate and timely payments to carriers and continuously delivers results. This role is the face of our auditing organization with our technology partners, Business and Finance partners and is broadly responsible for four things: 1) Ensuring that carrier transportation invoices are thoroughly audited, carriers are paid the correct amount, and are paid on time, 2) Partner with Accounting teams to ensure that liabilities with our carriers are accurately passed to downstream teams to be reflected in Amazon’s financial statements 3) Own the Intake process and seamless integration of new Carriers, Modes and Geographies onto Amazon technical systems 4) Provide BI insights and analytics on the transportation spend trends and patterns, to various stakeholder teams like Carrier Management, Procurement, Accounting, Business / Finance Partners. This is a perfect position for someone who is self driven and can keep up with pace in rather ambiguous environment. This role employs every facet of data and communication to ensure our partners and our leaders have transparency with the most up to date and reliable information to help them make the best possible decision.
Tight financial controls and adherence to company policies is required involving a high level of operational discipline and collaboration with internal and external teams.

Key job responsibilities
• Auditing of transportation freight invoices across multiple carriers in alignment with the auditing strategy, audit SOP and ensuring carrier are paid the right amount on time.
• Be vigilant on the controls in place and identify potential control failure and gaps
• Establish working relationship with other partner teams such as procurement, technology teams, carrier management teams and carrier
• Should have flair for automation and keen eye to identify opportunities of automation and efficiency improvement
• Responsiveness to critical, ambiguous and sometimes Adhoc business needs
• Own and maintain operational documentation for respective span and be accountable for your scope of operations. Ability to provide operational insight and data points to help drive decisions and improvements
• Excellent written and verbal communication for an effective partnership with global teams and stakeholders
• Troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve quality issues and identify any pattern that can enable automation
• Hands-on with SQL, advanced MS Excel and other analytical tools
• Critical thinking and ability to execute multiple competing priorities will be a key differentiator
