Job Details
Catering Sales Manager is responsible for maximizing the hotel banquet revenue and the optimum utilization of available spaces. Accurate forecasting and overseeing effective co-ordination with the operational department forms the core job objective. Leads and manages day-to-day activities related to the catering sales function with a focus on building long-term, value-based customer relationships that enable achievement of hotel sales objectives, to develop strategies to maximize sales, profitability and growth in market share.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational
Assist catering sales manager in reviewing, monitoring and revising guest service standards, thereby enhancing guest satisfaction.
Assist and maintain an efficient administration system within the department.
Administration
To follow the Departmental Operations Manual that reflects policies, procedures, work processes and performance standards within the department
To maintain client database with segmentation.
To ensure that an efficient and accurate filing system, both manual and electronic, is constantly updated.
To ensure that standard correspondence formats for various stages of bookings and events is completed and maintained.
Marketing
To continuously seek ways to maximize revenues and profits by upselling other facilities and services.
To assist the catering sales manager in monitoring and analyzing activities in the market, through guest feedback so as to ensure that we stay ahead of competition.
Actively solicit and develop sales and marketing activities with key industry partners such as travel agencies, convention organizers.
Optimize sales and profitability through effective utilization of the lettable space and resources. Responsible for achieving and exceeding revenue targets through tapping new market segments and enhancing relationships with existing clients.
Guest Services
Establish rapport with guests maintaining effective customer relationships and handle guest enquiries, requests either personally or over the phone.
Personally and frequently verify that guests are receiving best possible service.
Spend time in each function/event to ensure that the function/event is managed well by Banquet and supporting team to ensure guest delight.
Actively endeavor to seek and resolve guest complaints, where possible, exercise judgment and escalate it to appropriate higher authorities wherever required.
