As a Software Dev Manager in this team you will be leading a team of 20+ engineers including 1-2 SDMs, will work closely with Product team to deliver our planned charter. In the process the person would also get ample opportunities to think big to contribute towards Product/Tech charter.

As part of our planned and prioritized roadmap this team will be building multiple (potential Tier-1) services from scratch using latest Technologies.

This team/charter also provides ample opportunities to interact with industry leaders, to think out of the box to take Amazon Pay Later (and other Lending Products) to next level.

An ideal candidate for this role would be a person who loves working on cutting edge technologies including ML and have excellent leadership, technical and communication skills.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

• 7+ years of relevant engineering experience
• 3+ years of people management experience, managing engineers
• Experience in partnering with product and program management teams

• BS degree or higher in CS
• Have a strong sense of ownership, urgency and drive
• Be a strong leader, mentor, recruiter and people manager
• Has 10+ years of experience in software development and 4+ years as a development manager
• Work effectively across functional teams
• Be customer focused and result oriented

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in Payments domain
• Have experience building and running distributed systems for online services at scale
• Nimbleness and comfort with ambiguity; comfort responding quickly to rapidly evolving threats and opportunities
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities and create a sense of urgency in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Having implemented Agile in previous teams
• Experience in high availability systems design/development is highly desired.
• Knowledge of professional software engineering practices
• Strong sense of ownership, drive and ability to deliver results
