Role title: Product Manager / Group Product Manager

Type: Individual Contributor

Reporting to: Group Product Manager / Group Therapy Manager / Head - Marketing

Location: Hyderabad

Responsibilities:

  • New Product planning - Conceptualization
    • Generate ideas for new products from interactions with KOLs about unmet market needs
    • Ensure these ideas are given priority by various stakeholders
    • Prepare preliminary business case for an approval from strategy team
    • Prepare business plan and forecasts for the proposed product
    • Analyse market and competitor data to prepare the final business case
    • Create all creative material related to new brand like font, calligraphy, logo & pneumonic
    • Arrange for NOC from various associations of Chemists, Doctors, etc.
  • New Product planning - Launch
    • Prepare product manual for new products along with medico-marketing team
    • Determine positioning strategy for product and design communication material and visual aids based on positioning strategy
    • Ensure promotion samples are available at Global Distribution Centre (GDC)
    • Decide launch dates based on availability of first batch and market-readiness
    • Conduct launch meetings with Regional Sales Managers (RSMs), Area Sales Managers (ASMs) and Professional Service Reps (PSRs)
    • Coordinate with RSMs and review sales from launch date; sensitize them when required
    • Identify reasons when sales performance do not meet expectations; initiate corrective action (training to sales force, modifications to positioning or promotional strategy, etc) when required
  • Branding and Promotions (existing products)
    • Gather customer feedback through primary research (which patient segment and which indication)
    • Seek inputs from Medico-marketing team on positioning; finalize positioning strategy
    • Identify different customer segments for each product
    • Conduct market research from primary and secondary data to consider brand position correction as and when required
    • Identify key issues and develop, implement & follow-up action plans to address issues
    • Identify differences required in communication for different customer segments (General Practitioners versus Specialists)
    • Initiate discussions with different ad agencies; evaluate vendors and present decisions to Business Head for approval
    • Put together different contents such as indication, pack shot, slug line, positioning, dosage and present to Business Head for review and approval
    • Conduct field visits (5-6 days every month) to ensure marketing strategies are being implemented as per plan
    • Track quantities and supply of products in the market; update and share new product plan quantities with SCM team; inform the teams in case of any product shortage or excess; prepare plan for movement of materials from GDC to PSR
  • KOL and Continuing Medical Education (CME) Programs
    • Interact with KOLs for their respective range of products
    • Engage in field work for 5-6 days in a month to meet KOLs and receive insights for new & existing products
    • Update the KOLs about the brands on its value; collate product evidences/prevalence/clinical reports in Infogini
    • Identify need for CME based on understanding of and research on new discoveries and trends
    • Identify speakers for discussions; identify and invite doctors for these programs; ensure successful conduct of CMEs by field staff in their respective regions
  • Sales planning and review
    • Meet with RSMs to gather feedback on product execution
    • Gather campaign feedback for correction/tweaking, customer responses and request for additional support from doctors
    • Devise local (region-specific) strategy with RSMs and roll-out quarterly, if required;
